  1. Scannan, Still hanging tough after all these years. Hard to believe I joined this forum in 2007. Just want to extend respect to you for all your efforts over the years. There was a time when you weren't a lone voice crying in the wilderness, but those days are long gone. Thumbs upThumbs up
  2. Scannan, this is definitely a Bitdefender problem, At this point you can't navigate anywhere connected with IObit without a warning popping up, including the forum. Bitdefender must be juicing (taking steroids) over the past couple of days. IObit needs to contact BD to get this resolved. I'm sure other sites are having the same problem, current AV's are all intent with saving us from ourselves, even when we don't ask to be saved. Here is an example of what BD is protecting us from, when attempting to read forum content. We blocked this dangerous page for your protection: https://identifyluckyexactly.com/50/a3/51/50a351a59c68401244bd1da2f8e9b6e5.js Threat name: JS:Adware.Popunder.B
  3. Scannan, this is a junk post, posted previously under another username. Word for word, with no response from the OP.
  4. https://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/iobit_software_updater.html Your Softonic download may have been a false positive. Did you try VirusTotal?
  5. IObit be aware. https://www.zdnet.com/article/anonymous-researcher-drops-vbulletin-zero-day-impacting-tens-of-thousands-of-sites/
  6. Best to go with those who know:-), in this case Avast. Hope you found your answer and all is good.
  7. Would think you would be asking this question on the Avast forums rather than Iobit, but here's some info that should answer and help to rectify your situation. .https://www.vpnteacher.com/how https://help.avast.com/en/ws_android/1/alert_dns_hijack.html
  8. How about giving a little more information. Examples of what you refer to as browser startups (hundreds of them) would help. Lack of understanding may be due to terminology you are using. A Search for your subject line "Startup Manager-Browser Startups" returns no results.
  9. Here's a link to the decrypters that Emsisoft offers. https://decrypter.emsisoft.com/
  10. Take the time to read thoroughly the article Cicely posted previouly. You will have to whitelist those programs within your A/V if you wish to install them. As stated in the article a large number of A/V and malware programs have started this practice. http://www.thewindowsclub.com/malwar...wanted-program
  11. Though this article refers to malwarebytes, other cybersecurity firms are taking the same action. https://securityintelligence.com/news/malwarebytes-thinks-potentially-unwanted-programs-malware/
  12. Not a virus, ESET is probably recognizing DB as a PUP. A number of antimalware and antivirus programs have started doing this to some programs (Malwarebytes for example). https://www.howtogeek.com/232791/pups-explained-what-is-a-potentially-unwanted-program/ If you want to install DB, add it to ESET's exclusions.
  13. I don't think the folks at Tweaking.com would appreciate your referring to "their" software as abandoned. It is however, freeware, available to users at no cost. Tweaking.com-Windows Repair being their premium application, which offers both a free and pay version.
  14. Security type software has become much more aggressive in what they identify as PUP's (potentially unwanted programs). This is the reason for the problems you found in your scan report. Security programs are not taking into considerations that not all PUP's are bad and people may want these programs on their machines.
  15. With only a month to become compliant, this is going to be a major FUBAR for a lot of companies. I will say as someone who has downloaded and tested a lot these types of programs over the years this is a long time coming. I've had to clean a lot of friend and family computers as result fear mongering and a lack of knowledge.
