  1. Hi Cicely,

After I left my Asus T100 running last night, I was greeted with the infamous BSOD. Since I was in a hurry, I turned it off and restarted the machine. I perked up the machine with a Scan and Disk Doctor. To my surprise, the problem of the missing ASC8 icon disappeared. Now, whenever I start my Asus, I am happy that the ASC8 icon is always present on the task bar. :-)

EDIT: There must have been a problem in the system and it seems that it is corrected.

  3. Hi Cicely,

I just mistakenly deleted a very large file from my WD Passport Ultra today, which gave me a chance to try out the Undelete part of ASC8. It turned out to be very rudimentary, and could only find 7 deleted files. As of this writing, another freeware program has found 170 deleted files and is doing a deep scan to give me options to recover my lost file. May I suggest the development team to improve this part in future versions?

    Hi CharnK,

I have received the solution from our product team.;-)

Please download demo from http://wikisend.com/download/767132/Demo.exe to your desktop, then run the demo to see whether your SSD can be recognized.

If not, please send DemoLog.txt generated on the desktop to us.

Thanks very much for your patience and work.

    Hi Cicely,

Demo shows that my C: drive is on an SDD (as shown in DemoLog.txt). The Asus web site says it is an eMMC. The P: drive where I installed ASC8 is shown as an HDD, but it is definitely a micro-SD card from Kingston.

I have upgraded B1 to B2, and am still unable to show the ASC icon on startup.

  13. Hi Cicely

Regarding the issue that ASC8 does not see my C: drive as an SSD, I need to point out certain aspects of my machine:

    1. Windows is located on the C: drive which is a partition of a small SSD.

    2. ASC8 is located on a micro-SD card which is permanently plugged in to store as many non-Windows programs as possible.

Can this be the cause of my problem?

    Hi CharnK,

Thanks for your feedback. To prevent Bluetooth Support Service from being switched to manual status, please do not tick item Turn on Turbo Boost at Windows Startup in the last step when you configure Turbo Boost.

    Have a nice day!

    Hi Cicely,

Are you implying that Turbo Boost should not be turned on each time Windows starts? I have ticked that item, and ever since I changed Bluetooth Service back to automatic, I have had no more issue with the Bluetooth Service again.

By the way, have you got any news regarding why my C: drive on Asus T100 is not recognized as an SSD yet?
