Hi Melvin

The event log does leave some descriptions of events,

some are named by a number in order for the user to find the log.txt somewhere on the computer - the address is often written too, which seems to suggest that the user find the log and read what it says. (just use search)

Some of the events involves some service - you can open services by writing services.msc in Run.

When opened you should check if the service ought to run and whether it should be started or run automatic or manual.

This done you should also check whether the services has any dependencies and if these are started and have to run automatic or manual.

In the report shown there are several that timed out, some of these apparently did so because a dependent service could not be activated (probably because it wasn't started - or it may even have been deactivated by the user at one time.)

Just some logical (in my optics) comments without knowing much about it. :-)

Cheers

Thank you Solbjerg! Your logical comments knowing much about it are most appreciated! As you know, sometimes my glasses are off as well! It is most likely that the dependant service or services were deactivated by the user. Whether the user realized the service or services were being deactivated at the time is an entirely different question.

I was preoccupied concerning the risk of infection and movement of the thread and did not address the Event Log other that a vague reference that the user/member appears to have control.

Thanks a million for your post! As the original posting member/user hasn't been back since the thread was opened, I guess this is one we have done for the visiting future ones!

Sincerely,

Hi Mel

In many situations I view myself as a novice.

fx. I do not know enough to decide if a computer is infected except when it is glaringly obvious

But I think that the shown reports often show events that the users ought to investigate themselves, it is often described precisely what seems to be the trouble, and the investigative process isn't too hard.

It often involves the services and the "black viper" site is a great help here as mentioned several times previously in several posts.

My Observations

From what i can see

Nvidia seems to be mucking things up, have you recently updated,

1) your password, its out of date

2) updated your Nvidia drivers they are notorious for them not working correctly.

Id pop over to thier forum to see if anyone else has the same problem.

Roy
