Mouse & K/b not working

My pc stopped accessing the mouse/kb. I could have added my keyboard and mouse drivers to the disable part of the start programs through System Care. I have gone all the way to reinstalling Windows but still can not get my mouse/kb drivers to enable. When windows starts, the screen asks me to go over the drivers and install them but I have no way to interact with the pc... no kb or mouse. I am not sure if I can disable System Care (or even if this will be able to allow the drivers to load or if there is a way to install the drivers? I can use my mouse and kb when I go into the XP install disk but once it goes into the Windows screen I lose the mouse and Keyboard.

Do your mouse and keyboard have USB type connectors,

or do they have the older DIN type connectors.

If they are the round DIN type, try a USB keyboard and mouse.

Windows should automaticly activate USB type, without any drivers.

 

Note - I know that is true with W-7 but not sure about XP,

but I think XP ServicePack-3 added that USB capability?

Do you have SP-3?

 

Also I suggest upgrading to W-7 as soon as possible,

since it fixed many of connection and interface problems that XP had.

And W-7 is more compatible with later versions of other software programs.

Thanks for the reply but I have been using a wireless kb and mouse and it recognizes the driver when the pc is turned on as evidenced by the XP install disk giving me access. It is just when Windows comes up that I think ASC is then disabling the drivers.

Windows recognizes the kb and mouse and then wants me to install the drivers but since they are not active, I can not use either the kn or mouse to hit OK and enable the drivers. Very frustrating that they come up on the screen but I can not say YES... Install them!!!

So they Are USB, Not Wireless ???

If so, I'm out of Ideas..............?

 

Since I don't think there is any of the ASC utilities that can disable the USB ports.

But I can see how it could disable Wireless-drivers.
