SD3 and 8gb ssd chip on hdd

sunny staines

Recommended Posts

Got my fast laptop back with a new hdd, duff one only lasted a mere 11 months.

its a 1tb hdd with a 8gb ssd chip included where w8.1 is installed.

now before i install sd3 is it suitable for this type of hdd?

i know sd3 is no good for full ssd drives they use TRIM, but what about these hybrid drives.

i did ask before but never had a reply from any of the iobit team.

I understand that....however as it is the operating system which is resident on the chip I imagine these are mostly unmovable files anyway,,,,also you can see the files so you can add them to the Exclude List....

I would advise however against a boottime defrag as it is unknown how SD3 will react. I think it was released way too soon and is very buggy.

Maybe the safest thing is not to defrag until Iobit comment on this issue.

Why not report it to them at support@iobit.com and reference this thread.
