SD3 and WindowBlinds7

Posting in case this occurs to others using WindowBlinds.

 

WindowBlinds 7 on Win7 64 bit had no issues with Smart Defrag v2, but Smart Defrag 3 will crash, for at least some users, when the SysTray icon is clicked or when the Settings icon is clicked in the Main Window. Presumably, this may occur with other OS's & versions of WB, but I can't confirm that.

 

The fix is simple - exclude Smart Defrag's executable from skinning in WindowBlinds' configuration dialog.

 

Hope this is of help to others encountering unexplained SD3 crashes. I didn't think about a possible conflict between the apps for some time as there had been no conflict between previous versions of SD and WB7.

Nice of you to post this. There may something in WindowsBlinds that's causing SD3 to crash.

@Daiwa, what you said is a fact and we have communicated with WindowBlinds7 to solve the issue. And they supply us the fix is - exclude Smart Defrag's executable from skinning in WindowBlinds' configuration dialog.

 

Hope they will solve the issue from the root asap. ;-)
