Startup issues

Earlier this week, I installed asc and saw the program deactivater and decided to use it.

Upon the next restart, a bunch programs that normally launch on startup did not even though I did not deactivate them.

I decided to check on the program deactivator and I saw that the apps that did not launch got moved to the third section (something about those apps not being optimiseable). I went to my task manager to see and it showed the were still enabled(though on impact it says not measured).

I thought the only way I could fix this is by installing asc. I did that and also used ccleaner and then restarted my pc. I then logged on but the apps still did not start(the problem is that some of these apps will only launch on startup). I checked task manager and they were enabled, just not measured.

This is the problem I have and would like some solutions as soon as possible.

Hi loldog9999,

Let's make the issue easy to understand. Do you mean even the apps are enable in Startup Manager, but they fail to launch at Windows startup?

If this is the issue, could you please tell us which apps fail to launch at Windows startup.

The related screenshots will be appreciated.

Yes, that is the problem. I can provide screenshots once I get home.

To give some examples

AMD catalyst control

Roccat kova+ (Application that monitors my mouse)

Steam

The application that monitors my graphics tablet(don't have specific name)

And a few others

I can give more details and screenshots of the startup programs once I get home.

The main problem with some of the apps can only work on startup, but asc seems to have stopped that when I used the program deactivator

Here is a screenshot of my task manager

Although it says they are enabled they are not and this was a change caused when I installed ASC.

Some of these apps are important such as HP Cool Sense which prevent my laptop from over heating so a fix would be really appreciated

Thank you

Another observation I have made is that looking at this picture

All the apps used to be in enabled/disabled when I first used it but now they have been moved to "No optimization potential" as highlighted in the picture. I believe this is where the problem is.

Hi loldog9999,

For the "Not Measured" issue, please take a reference at link below:

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_8-performance/windows-8-task-manager-startup/9a634617-b66f-4ca6-86fb-3cab2a4e0b6b

For the second concern, the reason may be that the applications are optimized by other tools, so no system load detected by Program Deactivator. Then they will be shown as No optimization potential in Program Deactivator.

Hope this will help you better understand the situation.
