Windows Logon Sound

Ted

Recommended Posts

I have created a Registry key to enable Verbose Status during bootup and have discovered that my bootup stops for about twelve seconds at "Playing Windows Logon Sound"

I have "Logon Sounds" disabled in Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices, but is there a way to enable bootup to skip that option completely?

Hi, samr,

Thanks for that.

Actually, I had used the RemoveWGA tool they mentioned and it did remove the offending message, but I got another one in its place: wlnotify.dll which lasted about twelve seconds. I did a System Restore back to where I started so I'm back to square one!
