Touchpad not working after iobit drivers update

I downloaded today iobit driver booster, today to update my drivers. Since I've been using it on my old laptop. The problem that the touchpad doesn't work anymore after the update, I can't find a way to fix it, and I don't own a mouse which make even harder. I own a lenovo yoga s740 14. I got so many important on my laptop that I don't want to lose and from what I found re-installing windows won't help.

I tried to revert but it didn't work as for rolling back the original , I could't use driver since I'm only using my keyboard. Do you mind telling me how to get the original one using driver booster ? I'm not sure if it work since it seems like the touchpad is no longer available.

In windows Settings...click on Devices

In Devices click on Touchpad in the left column.

In Touchpad...click on additional settings...on the right hand side

In the pop up box look under Hardware to see if anything is listed.

Also, on the Touchpad screen...on the left side...look at...Fixing Touchpad Problems and Opening the On-screen touchpad.

It is very hard to help you when I do not know what you are able to do on your pc without a touchpad or mouse.

Have a look here...https://www.quora.com/unanswered/Why-is-my-laptop-touchpad-not-working-after-a-driver-update-by-Windows

https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/synaptics-touchpad-not-working-after-windows-10/4cbadc3b-e287-4f15-99e5-2913b4ec6e23

https://www.google.com/search?q=touchpad+not+working+after+driver+update&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-b

Also, if you can open Device Manager in windows

scroll down to ,,, Mice and other pointing devices...expand that and Synaptics pointing device should be listed. If it is see if there is

an error on it....

If it is not listed, right click on Mice and other pointing devices and click Scan for Hardware Changes....

As I said the the touchpad is not listed anywhere as well as mouse and other pointing devices

No...you never said that.

Did you read the Driver Booster Manual I gave the link to earlier

Your trackpad does not have to be replaced. There is nothing physically wrong with it. Your system just does not see it.

Have a look at this similar issue which was fixed by installing Win 11....Just be sure not to lose your files.

I'm not sure if I want to upgrade to windows 11 especially that I don't think an official version is out yet.

I don't mind factory reset, but from what I've read on this forum and other ones. It seems that this doesn't solve the problem. I don't see why, if Iobit driver booster only updates drivers, it may install the wrong ones and delete the right ones, but it should be fixed by simply getting the old drivers when resetting

Here is a link to the Lenovo support page for your machine....

You can download the touchpad driver or you can run diagnostics

https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/ie/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/yoga-series/yoga-s740-14iil?linkTrack=Homepage%3ABody_Browse Products&searchType=0&keyWordSearch=

I've already tried them both the driver didn't work, and the diagnostic tool simply shows the touchpad as not available

If only life were so simple.

Yes it should be easy to undo the problem by simply reverting, but as you can see from the article, it seems that Windows 10 had an issue with the

Driver Update and disabled the device.

Maybe your best course is to do a diagnostic or an automatic driver update on the lenovo site I sent you.

I found a solution, by rolling back the old driver using iobit driver booster, is there a way to know if anything else was affected?

I do not understand.

I suggested that you do that at the very beginning, and I even sent you the Product Manual link for Driver Booster so

you could see how to do it.

Why have you only now done this.
