Autoruns

Hi, All,

 

Has anyone here used the Autoruns tool? I was shocked to see how many programmes and applications are actually being started automatically on my computer. For example, I disabled an accelerator named: Propel Electrify months ago and it's still being started plus dozens of others I feel shouldn't be running.

No Ted,I haven't,but I just took a look at it and see it's co-authored by the same guy behind my beloved "page defrag"-Mark Russinovich.Might be a good time to try it,as I don't have much installed yet.I already run selective start mode and have killed nearly everything in system services that I can do without.Should be interesting to see what else Uncle Bill thought I needed to slow down my stuff.

the defrag of the pagefile is a good tool,most of the others are for networks, tools are updated on a regular basis

Very useful link Sunny.Enoskype,I didn't know that,but I'm happy to hear that MS has somebody on the payroll that knows what the hell they're doing.Mark's work actually seems to be stuff that guys like me can use and actually understand!

Thanks very much for that link. It's nice having a useful tool like Autoruns, but it's even nicer knowing how to use it correctly.
