Ashampoo

Among the many birthday presents I received recently is a copy of NZ PC World in which the free DVD features Ashampoo WinOptimizer 5. Has anyone here used this tool and if so what opinion did you form of it?

Ted -Run from that utility as though it were a burning building!!That screwed up my PC so badly that a system restore didn't even get my internet capabilities righted.I had to perform a Winsock repair,DNS flush,even reinstalled FF.Parts of it are OK,but the auto optimize feature is a barefoot walk through broken glass.There's no internal restore from the execution of that auto command.Run,Run,Run..How's that?

I had a friend who tried it...trashed his PC too. Required a repair install. This was last year, but still...
