new ultimate 16 user, I can't enable surfing protection on microsoft edge

Recommended Posts

I can't enable "surfing protection" on microsoft edge chromium. I have it enabled on internet explorer and chrome but can't toggle to "on" for microsoft edge chromium. I get a prompt "need to install extension" that links me to the download page for chrome, it shows already installed. Opening Edge browser, under extensions it shows 'IObit surfing protection' in grey. Clicking 'manage extensions' it shows it installed and turned on, but it's not! I have tried toggling it off and on in the browser and restarting my computer. I have the same issue for 'ads removal'. Surprisingly, 'homepage advisor' is enabled for all 3 browsers. Thanks for any help.

While pondering what reason one could have for using three different browsers - I installed the latest version of Microsoft Edge (assuming that's what you mean by 'edge chromium'; Chromium being the engine Edge runs on) & dumped the IObit Surfing Protection in there, which seems to work as intended - nothing greyed out.
Tried re-installing the browser?

PS: As a new ultimate 16 user, you may want to not post in the rather ancient ultimate 13 forum-thread 😉
