My daughters desktop runs on OS XP we use it on a wireless network adaptor (Zoom Wireless network adaptor) however whenever the machine is switched off we have to restart zero wireless configeration, reguardless if its on auto or started manually. can anyone help with this issue please.

Hi Melvin

Perhaps it is ASC System Optimize that is the culprit - if that setting is not placed in the ignore list.

If no other members post on this, try the avanquest, it is small and light. It seems your xp is ignoring the auto command for some reason. The avanquest will assume responsibility of handling the wireless and take xp out of the picture.

Hi emttaff,

Go to Windows Sevices, double-click on Wireless Zero Configuration service, and change the Startup type: to Automatic.

Click start on taskbar, type services.msc to Run..., and Enter to go to the Services.

Please do not forget to put it in ignore list if it is found as a problem by System optimization as solbjerg points out.

Cheers.

Hi emttaff

You probably have the setting that it runs a "repair" when switching off.

Therefore please first make it automatic in services - then run a manual "Repair" - check the "problems" - place the setting you are concerned about in the ignore list. And then let it do its job when closing the computer.

Cheers
