I was asking a question. In the forum CCleaner and Crap Cleaner were both being referenced. CCleaner used to be called Crap Cleaner, but I think they lost the rights to the full name. I would be interested in seeing reviews on Crap Cleaner from http://www.Evonsoft.com. I tried emailing Evonsoft, but their email address does not work. Since Evonsoft is Iobit, I thought I could find out more information in the Iobut Forums.

Advanced Spyware Remover is labeled as a rouge and the links you posted to it should be removed. You should NEVER post links that you are not sure of. It's dangerous to other forum users. If it is an IObit company then I appologize and will test it to see why it has such a bad reputation.

You are either just looking to start trouble or are an amateur spammer. Personally I think it's a little of both and that makes you a forum troll.

Questions

evilfantasy, it is a Iobit company. I downloaded Crap Cleaner on http://www.evonsoft.com and tried it out. When you run the setup file, it says Iobit. Please explain that. I am on here to find out if Iobit products can be trusted and to give Iobit the benefit of the doubt. The only way I can do that, is to ask questions. I did not realize that this was a one sided point of view forum. Instead of answering my questions, I get name calling. Thats real mature of you. Apparently if someone does not agree with everything you say, they are not welcome here.

The Advanced Spyware Remover and IObit Security 360 Free download links are different.

If you download the IObit software it sends you to Download.com which is the real download for 360. The Advanced Spyware Remover download comes from evonsoft.com but the Digital Signature is from IObit Information Technology. That does not mean it is real though!

The Advanced Spyware Remover installer does however launch an install for IObit Security 360. It even has the IObit Toolbar.

BUT. The version number on Advanced Spyware Remover is wrong. It says v2.0 when IObit Security 360 is v1.41. (see attachments)

Also the file sizes do not match. Not even close.

IObit Security 360 setup file - 7.73 MB

Advanced Spyware Remover setup file - 9.32 MB

Scan results from both IS360 and ASR were different. Both found 2 cookies but Advanced Spyware Remover found a False Positive on an installer from Microsoft.

Unless IObit states they own the Advanced Spyware Remover website and the software installer for Advanced Spyware Remover I am going to consider it a rouge which has been stolen and modified to imitate IObit Security 360. But, I really would like to hear an official explanation about this.

Evil Fantasy, we agree on something:) I would also like to hear a official explanation. Before the Malwarebytes incident, I was Iobit user. But this thing with evonsoft, dvdfast, winxdvd, and sog makes me wonder why Iobit would have so many different names.

I think that calling it CrapCleaner is very unwise because the original name of CCleaner was - yes - CrapCleaner.

IObit and its partners like Evonsoft should be very careful not to anger other software makers again. That would certainly very hurtful for their business and the trust other have in them. :???:

Why not rename CrapCleaner in CrapRemover, NoCrap, SmoothSailing, or whatever.

Thanks Fred.

I was beginning to believe that they are associated. But the two programs are different so there is something more to the story. Still. If Advanced Spyware Remover is owned by IObit and they can repackage it however they like. It doesn't really look good (to me) but it's theirs to do as they please.

I didn't see any evidence of Advanced Spyware Remover being a rouge.

- It was free, no prompts to "buy to remove".

- No false findings. The installer it found was in my C: drive so that alone is suspicious.

And they are different.

IObit Security 360 setup file - 7.73 MB

Advanced Spyware Remover setup file - 9.32 MB

itsmejjj, I have contacted Iobit and they will not reply. Why would I go to the Iobit Security 360 section of the forum, when I am talking about Evonsoft and their version of Crap Cleaner? Iobit should really clean up their act when it comes to using the name Crap Cleaner. If you have ever tried Winx DVD Ripper, DVDFAST Ripper, or SOG DVD Ripper, they are all copies of the same software and all Iobit owned. Why is there a need to do this?

The screenshot below has been captured directly from http://www.evonsoft.com/advanced-spyware-remover-upgrade.htm.

Even to the inexperienced eye, it looks like it's just another attempt to push downloads and sales of IS360 and IS360 Pro respectively.

It's easy: We offer the same product, more than likely one of the older versions, no update ability and cut the detection of malicious items by 50% plus. When people try to update, we just redirect them to this website, where they can download (or purchase) the real deal (IS360/Pro).

It's all it is: a sales gimmick. (offer a crappier version, so people will download the better one at a later time.)

If those are IObit's business ethics, I wouldn't want to do business with them.

Hi guys,

Have a look at those quite old posts by Admin Clayton. (3.5 years ago)

The Advanced Spyware Remover subject in this thread is discussed a while ago again and also screenshots have been given.

If you search carefully you will find the threads, posts and screenshots.

I wonder why the subject is repeatedly wheeling out in front of us.

BTW, I agree about not using the name Crap Cleaner.

Cheers.
