Hi blacksea

Cheching the core files in both applications yields this result:

IMG core def. 6,20 MB (6.501.822 byte)

IS360 core def. 5,27 MB (5.531.962 byte)

Which does not look as if they are precisely alike :-)

Cheers

So does the IMF have the same database as IS360?

Hi solbjerg,

Ah I see, but I think that IMF has a bigger core def due its many FP. That this may be a possible reason I think.

And if IMF core def. is 6,20 MB isn't it then 6.201.822 bytes or something and 5.2731.962 bytes of IS360?

Cheers

Hi blacksea

IMG core def. 6,20 MB (6.501.822 byte)

IS360 core def. 5,27 MB (5.531.962 byte)

6,2 is MB to translate it into KB you multiply it by 1024 = 6.348,8 KB

to translate that into bytes you multiply it again by 1024 = 6.501.171,2

So we can then conclude that the 6,20 MB was rounded down a bit, and that IS360 5,27 MB was rounded down even more but 5,28 would have been too much.

Try going the other way from the bytes to the megabytes - divide the bytes by 1024² = 6,2006206512451171875 MB → 6,2 MB

You may be right that it could be the corrected false positives that make up the difference, but I am not sure, even with 200 bytes per correction it would come to 969.920 divided by 200 = 4.849,6 false positives, and I am not sure that there have been that many FP?

On the other hand - the false positives corrections should be in the core def. in IS360 too!!

The heuristic scan engine of course generates false positives once in a while - but is it really by now that many?

Cheers
