Is there somewhere I can learn what some of the things in V4 mean - for example the Performance Monitor sometimes has an "A", sometimes a "B" - what does it all mean?

Yep - you are right. My own performance monitor goes from pink to red, then green, then white. And that's just trying to work out what an error message means...
