asc 4.0

I installed asc 4.0 on xp pro w/ser pack 3. Unlike asc 3, it no longer found malware and other file as asc 3 does. I uninstalled asc 4.0 and am wondering why it will not find addware, malware as the older version did. I have tried asc 4.0 twice with the same results. any haelp would be appreciated

The Malware utility in ASC is not a complete and regularly Updated Security program, so if you do not have a frequently updated Security program, running at all times, I suggest that you install one. (Such as Malware-Fighter, AVG, MSE or Stopzilla)
