Major Problems with 3.3

I updated from 3.2 to 3.3 yesterday when notified a new version of GameBooster was available, and immediately there were two major problems.

 

First, when GameBooster starts, the user interface appears, THEN the UAC prompt shows up minimized on the taskbar. In 3.2, the UAC prompt properly appeared BEFORE the GameBooster interface as expected.

 

Second, double-clicking a game icon in the game box used to launch the game in boost mode. Now it just seems to activate the countdown timer to hide the interface, but games don't start. I found that I can single-click to select a game, then click the Boost & Launch button to get it running, but don't know why simplicity of double-click to boost & launch went away.

 

I have uninstalled and re-installed a couple of times, including deleting the remnant folders and files in the IOBit folder. The computer has been rebooted several times. Nothing has made it work properly again - or make it work like 3.2. Unfortunately, I must have deleted the 3.2 installer so I can't go back.

Indeed, this new version still has some problems (close explorer.exe is working again but often totally freeze GB or the program is minimized and the game opens but the boost does not happen, etc.) and is far from being stable... I would be sometimes tempted to go back to Beta versions of Game Booster 3 just because they were more stable! ಠ_ಠ

It's actually even worse that I reported in the OP. I accidentally started GameBooster a while ago, and when I told the UAC "No" to just avoid having it starting at all, I ended up going through at least 8 iterations of UAC popping another confirmation request before it went away. 3.3 just seems to be a total mess. I can't thank you enough for the 3.2 link!

You're welcome! :grin: I always keep the older versions in case... Personally, I came back to Game Booster PRO beta 1 until IOBit releases the next version (which will probably take a month or more... :x).

3.3.1. Definitely needs work!

 

I was always pretty much satisfied with the early versions of GB but this one really sucks! My game doesn't start in game mode because the interface switches back to normal in the meantime. Second when I end the game the interface does not automatically switch back to normal. I'm going to delete this crap. Thanks for posting the 3.2 link!

Having much of the same issues as Filtertron. I only use GB3.3 when I play World Golf Tour and the game just doesn't play well on the new version. Is it possible to remove the latest download and play the old version.
