All was well until I ran Deep Optimisation. After that all photo thumbnails are gone (silly icon instead) and also some icons that were on the taskbar are gone. I have wasted ages searching for and applying "fixes" but none have fixed this issue. Please help, I am getting very frustrated and wish I had never bought ASC

You give very little information.

Which Deep Optimise features did you use. Did you just run them all.

When you say "searching for and applying fixes"....what fixes are you talking about.

Did you try running system restore to take you back to a time before you ran the Deep Optimisation.

I used the default settings of Deep Optimise, which I think were: Optimise the visual effect of window menus... and Accelerate the display of taskbar thumbnail preview.

The fixes I have tried are things like: Always show icons, never thumbnails is unchecked in File Explorer Options, Show thumbnails instead of icons is checked in System Properties/Visual Effects

I don't have a restore point

The Default settings are everything....Hard Disk Speedup/Network Speedup/System Speedup.

That is an awful lot of stuff to run at once.

Is this the first and only time you used Deep Optimise.

You should always have at least two restore points at least a week apart.
