My Sophos anti malware software has stopped working.

My Sophos anti malware software has stopped working since I installed MacBooster 8. (my operating System is macOS Big Sur 11.6)

Are the two softwares compatible with each other?

Did simply installing MacBooster 8 cause the issue. Or did you actually run MacBooster functions, and then the issue occurred.

Sophos first blocked MacBooster 8 and would not allow me to install it.

I then  gave permission for Sophos to  accept MacBooster 8.

I was able to run the software but the Sophos Shield went orange with the message real time protection not working appeared.

I was unable to reinstall Sophos on this computer but Mac Booster 8 is working.

I  managed to reinstall Sophos on another iMac with the same operating system.

On this computer Sophos is working but MacBooster 8 is not.

When i try to open the app I get the message "You do not have permission to open the application MacBooster 8 app.. Contact your computer or network administrator for assistance."

Thanks but I had seen this post already while trawling for an answer.

I have contacted Sophos support and following their advice I have now uninstalled MacBooster 8.

I think I will just keep the software and reinstall it when I feel my computer is slowing down as I rather have continuous protection against ransomware etc

Amazing....so Sophos solution when their software will not work with other software, is to delete the other software,

rather than fix the issue.

Personally, I would get a better antimalware/antivirus program...

Just remove old version and update with new version.
