Sudden errors in my astrological program after upgreding .

Recommended Posts

I recently upgraded to Advanced System Care Ultimate 15, and have recurring issues with my astrological program, Solar Fire Gold version 8, distributed by Astrolabe Inc. Two issues have emerged so far - the graphics have been compromised/broken for certain displays, and ASCU15 continually intrudes into the operation of the program, asking me to confirm that the program be allowed to access files contained within the program itself.

In the first instance, the glyphs representing planetary aspects on displayed charts are routinely deleted, requiring me to open the file involved and re-edit it, sometimes more than once, to restore functionality. This process sometimes causes the program to cease functioning and crash.

In the second instance, each time I open the program, and every time I select a different display file for a given chart, I get a prompt to either allow or block access by the parent program to the display file selected. I can find no way to "whitelist" the program or shut down this process.

I installed this program to make my computer experience more efficient, not more complicated.

In m y attempt to share photos to highlight the problem I am experiencing, I have discovered yet another issue - active links embedded in emails no longer function in my Mozilla Thunderbird email program. It seems your program has caused much more havoc in my system than I had previously estimated. So what are you going to do about it?

I had to completely delete ASCU15 in order to even reply to your confirmation email. Having done so, all of my other problems are resolved. However, I would like to have a functioning version of your program that doesn't destroy the functionality of other programs on my computer.

Seeing as you give very little detail of the issue, it makes it more difficult to assist you.

Did you go through all the settings in ASCU to ensure it is set up to suit your needs.

Did you try stopping the various protections one at a time to identify which function is causing the issue.

why do you have to edit the glyphs every time. Do you not make a backup of the working file.

Why can you not "whitelist" your program. Just put it in the ignore list of ASCU.

ASCU is already a functioning version. It just sees your program as a threat for some reason, and seeing as you know it is not

a threat, then you must educate/set up ASCU to suit your needs.

I also strongly suggest you read the ASCU User Manual.

"why do you have to edit the glyphs every time. Do you not make a backup of the working file. "

Each time I open the program, the file does not display properly. Fiddling with the program, I discovered that re-editing the file each time temporarily restored function to normal. Since the program has functioned flawlessly up until now, I see no reasons to back up the files in question, as they do not appear to be the problem. Regardless of which one of multiple files available in the program I select, all will display improperly unless and unlit edited, which is still not a guarantee of restoring functionality without the program crashing, which has never occurred prior to the "upgrade."

"Why can you not "whitelist" your program. Just put it in the ignore list of ASCU."

From the user manual: The Ignore List covers 12 modules: Antivirus, Privacy Sweep, Junk File Clean, Spyware Removal, Registry Clean, Startup Optimization, System Optimization, Browser Cookies, Internet Boost, Shortcut Fix, Security Reinforce, and Software Health.  So, which would you recommend? Or must I tell each particular module to ignore the program? The user manual tells me that the ignore list affects scan results. Nothing shows up regarding this program in a scan of the system. If there is a module of ASCU that continually monitors program activity in my computer, please point out where in the user manual that is noted, as I seem to have missed it. The user manual as it stands is rather scant in details, and not particularly intuitive to my understanding. More detail might be a better choice than less, particularly as the manual is online.

"I also strongly suggest you read the ASCU User Manual."

Did that. That's why I'm here on the forum. See my comment above. I might strongly suggest you hire a better technical writer and re-write the user manual so that it contains more details as to what each module does in real time, to better assist end users in troubleshooting problems, which seem to be rather plentiful based on forum entries.

So, will you address the issues with my e-mail program? Or must I put it on ignore in each and every module as well? I am sorely missing Advanced System Care 14 right now.

Did you have ASCU14 or just ASC14.

If you only had ASC14 and had no issues with your program, then that tells us that it is the antivirus function

which is causing the issue. If you look in the User Manual under the section entitled Protections, you will see the various System and Browser

functions. If you switch them off one by one it should show you which one is causing the issue.

Once you have that you can then whitelist for that function.
