Problem with screen resolution and "desperate lag" after using Iobit Driver Booster to update a graphics driver.

Recommended Posts

Hi, my son is running Windows 11 on his laptop. After using Iobit Driver Booster 10.3 Pro to update a graphics driver the resolution has changed from 1536x864 to 1280x720 which makes it unusable. It has also made the laptop incredibly "laggy". When asked to "click to fix bad resolution" he keeps getting the message, " Unable to fix, please contact us". Please help.

You should look at System Restore on your PC to see if you have a restore point from before this issue happened.

If you have, then restore your pc to that time and it will solve your issue by putting everything back to the way it was before the driver update.

If you do not have a restore point to suit, you can roll back the driver to the previous driver was used before the update.

The User Manual will show you how.....http://www.iobit.com/product-manuals/db-help/

Sorry if I've confused you, the first thing my son did was go to windows settings to try to change the resolution, but the option was, and is "greyed out", and cannot be clicked on. He's also tried rolling back the driver to the previous driver used before the update, (using Iobit), and tried to restoring his pc as you suggested before but nothing seems to be working.

No problem, but it is hard to resolve an issue without the necessary info, which you have now supplied.

DB has installed the wrong driver.

The issue you have will require the install of the correct driver ( yourself)

Have a look at this article...Solution 1 should fix the issue.....https://ugetfix.com/ask/how-to-fix-screen-resolution-settings-greyed-out-in-windows/
