Iobit Security 360 takes too long to scan.

This program takes way too long to use. It takes over 24 hours to scan my computer :sad:

That is not normal, what is the size of your disk and about how many files you have?

Is it the full scan?

Which OS, and what other security programs you run at the same time?

 

Please give as much details as you can.

thats not normal 275GIG and it scan in ten min so how much memory do you have

200 GB, 2 gigs of ram, win XP, avast antivirus, windows fire wall.

 

I know its a 200 GB hard rive, but it says its only a 177 GB, hmmm. dumb computer :mrgreen:

Your scan should go pretty quickly, since only 24GB is being used. o.o

Maybe your Avast was doing something to it.

Try disabling your antivirus, and give IObit Security 360 High priority inside Task Manager

I am not sure what you mean.

 

Are you saying that when you click on Scan the progress bar is hardly moving and takes over 24 hours to reach the end ?

 

Or:

 

Is it that Task Manager or another program tells you that Security 360 is still running in the background.

Exactly, taking 24 hours to complete a scan. slowest thing i have ever seen

the delay is unusual even with low priority.

 

maybe there is a conflict with an other program

 

Check your disk for errors chkdsk /f/r at command line

 

Boot in safe mode and try scanning -if problem persists uninstall S-360 and install again.

That is really weird...you said you have a firewall right but windows firewall is of no use to be honest. Try another free firewall although i dont know what to do with the 24 hour scan.....lol;-)

I'm curious, why is windows firewall of no use? Even in Vista? What other firewall would you recommend?
