ASC 3.5.0 spyware scanner question

Here's a sample of what is scanned-

http://img1.hugeup.com/f/02212010/278bbb8f938d.JPG

Notice how it's "Scanning: Trojan.Win32.Fynben.b"... I wanted to get some clarification on what this is. ie, are the items brought up during the Spyware Removal scan only what it is looking for, and not necessarily what is on the PC? It didn't detect any spyware so that would seem to be the case, correct? Was also wondering how thorough are the various scanners in ASC 3.5.0?

Any info is much appreciated, thanks.

Hello badaxe2,

you can do a quick google Search on that trojan

like here: http://www.google.be/#hl=en&source=hp&q=trojan.win32.fynben.be&btnG=Google+Search&meta=&aq=f&oq=&fp=19688136cd3f4872

i think that the threats there where ASC is gonna scan are the most common infections.

Hi badaxe2,

ASC is looking for those in it's database, so they are not in your PC.

They are thorough enough, but it is better to use IS360 for security scan and real-time defense.

Please read USAGE of IOBIT PRODUCTS thread.

Hi jelrikj,

There is no need to look at that specific trojan, as it is a random one at the time of the screenshot.

Cheers.

malware definition list

Hi badaxe

As enoskype is saying the program application is going through its malware definition list to check if you have any of that malware on your machine.

So the files it is showing is that malware list - not what it finds - that will be shown later - if any is found.

Cheers

Thanks for the replies! I figured that was the case but wanted to make sure. I looked up that particular trojan and found what it is but nothing on its relation to ASC, so I posted up this thread.

IObit makes some good software; for example being a gamer I also like Gamebooster.

ASC does a "basic" check here. This is what Tim refers to as "popular". ASC does not, or has never purported itself to catch all "trojans" ASC is not an anti-virus software. It is a powerful system optimization tool. It will streamline the users interaction with the PC and help keep the PC clean.

The "Usage of Iobit Products" thread is most useful in understanding.
