Definitions out of date

I just upgraded to Pro and my "definitions out of date" will not clear. When I click "check again" it still says the same thing.

Please update the definitions by clicking Update link at the top-right of the GUI.

Since you have the Pro edition, choose the automatic update function in Settings... under More there too.

 

You can also try to update offline by downloading the latest definitions from IObit Malware Fighter Offline database 1080 (November 18, 2011) post.

I tried the GUI as mentioned in my original post. I tried the offline and according to my db list I have the latest update but the gui still says definitions are out of date.

Try closing IMF and restarting.

 

That has worked for me.

 

When that has not worked I have had to have the computer do a restart, kind of like at NASCAR after a red flag.:grin:

I don't either or do I? Some of my favorite fictional TV characters, include Spock, Data and Sherlock Holmes.:smile:

unable to connect to update server

 

Just downloaded malwarefighter free. It repeatedly fails to update using the updater in the GUI, alerting me that it cannot connect to server.

 

I decline to update manually, so am I stuck forever with this program unable to update? If so, deletion is imminent. Too bad, since otherwise it appears to a good program.

Are you using Proxy? If not, did you check if proxy is enabled?

(More=>Settings=>Proxy=>Update Proxy=>Proxy=>Enable Proxy)

Please try couple of times ticking applying and unticking applying, and even restarting IMF in between.

 

Sometimes a Clean Install is a remedy.
