Firstly, please don't make two threads of the same post.

 

Secondly, are you pressing the scan button? And if you see a magnifying glass slowly hovering around then that means it is scanning. If it doesn't appear to be doing this then reinstall your ASC5, if after that doesn't work then consider contacting support.

Please give some information about your settings, your computer and other relevant information - used space - free space and so on.

How long since the previous defrag?

sorry my first time. The magnifier is moving but it will go on forever with no change in progress bar

windows xp home service pack 3

74.4 gb drive with 36.1 used.

defragged today by ASC deep scan (minimized)

1ghz pentium 3.

ASC settings all set to reccomended.

Just did a clean install and still acts the same.

My other computer HP Envy Laptop works fine.

Do you have ActiveBoost activated?

Do you have TurboBoost activated?

Have you tried a chkdsk?

Have you tried sfc /scannow?

I did exactly like your clean install using revo installer and after rebooting the same thing occurrs so i guess i have to reinstall windows xp unless someone can tell me what needs to be enabled. i even enabled all services.
