Advanced care 5 pro making me re-install a program

Every time that I run quick care(I believe it is the registry fix) and I try and open my NTI media maker 8 for burning dvds among other things, it tell me " media maker was not installed properly. So I have to uninstall and reinstall every time. What part of the registry would it be altering and how can I avoid this? I unchecked "software" thinking it would bypass that, and I looked at the log and didn't see anything that sad NTI on it, so I am confused and really do not want to use this any longer if I have to continuously uninstall and reinstall software due to advanced system care altering things, that obviously have nothing wrong with them.

These are items from the registry repair? Run a scan only and right click the items you don't want touched, then choose ignore, (you will have to go through the whole list, leave only the things checked you are sure of!) before running the repair. (This will place them in the ignore list)

 

Or you can just uncheck all the "high" risk items without looking at them or thinking about it then click repair. High risk means there is high risk of damage to your system!

Thanks, I thought the "high risk" meant, those were harmful to my computer. Also, I wouldn't know which ones to uncheck, because the software name wasn't in any of them

If you don't know what a high risk entry is... then uncheck it!!! I have been voicing my opinion about this repeatedly! Especially when an item is identified as high risk but no information is given (for you to investigate) to see if it should be removed!! Uncheck all high-risk items unless you see one you KNOW shouldn't be there!! (In my last scan I identified only two items that I knew shouldn't be there... because I could see that they were remnants of softwares I had deleted.) Any possible gain of the miniscule increase in performance is offset by the risk of damage... unless you know exactly which item you can fix!!

i used to think this too for high risk until recently.

 

what i do in these circumstances is delete them all. then reinstall the software then rerun ASC and only the software reg keys that are thrown up in error will show. you can then set these to be ignored [might be worth noting them down too] as a future update of ASC does not carry over items to ignore.

 

i do this with my hp allinone software.

Normally speaking, Advanced SystemCare won't cause such problem, please kindly help us look into it.

 

1) Have you used the Rescue function of ASC, if not, please have a try when the issue occurs and let us know the result.:wink:

 

Open ASC 5>> click the button "Rescue" >>choose one restore point (note: please set restore point to the time before the problem occurred)>>click "undo"button

 

2) Please send us the Log folder and Backup folder under the profile folder so that we can further look into the problem.
