I have activated PFTool.exe on safe mode in Windows 10 and it tells me it's not compatible with Windows 10. When I do a compatibility troubleshoot (not in safe mode) it tells me it's for Windows 8. Is a newer version of PFTool required?

I did read the repetitive posts/comments/responses; none of which gave an answer, other than the original .
Download page will not open in SafeMode. Instructions are in the incorrect order.

  • Download the tool
  • Reboot in safe Mode
  • Run tool

Trying now to locate the downloaded tool.

Of course they gave the answer. I even provided the PFTool.exe as an attachment. I also just tested the links (including the link in your post) and they all worked perfectly.

So, something on your end is preventing the download.

Dear Scannan, the answers given aren't helpful. I tried several times to download the tool and Edge tells me, "It's not safe for download" so it is blocked. My problem is, that I never HAD a password for PF as I never had it installed before. It keeps prompting me to enter a password, but both passwords I have for IOBIT don't work. So far, the answers hasn't been given for that problem. Maybe you have a fertile one?

You posted your issue in the Forgot Password Topic.

Obviously, you can now see that that is the wrong Topic for your issue. You should have opened a New Topic.

Did you read the User Manual for Protected Folder. The answer to your issue is there right at the beginning
