DropBox communications error after AdvancedSystemCare did a great clean

Recommended Posts

GOOD NEWS:

My PC had become unbearably slow on startup - taking many minutes, so I launched ASC V8 and enabled it to clean everything. It found loads of errors and now system boot is back to normal.

BAD NEWS

DropBox won't work. It comes up with 'Connection Errors' which can be caused by 'incorrect date/time' (not that), being blocked by firewall or other antivirus software - so am wondering can ASC have caused the problem.

Had a look at ASC settings and found the 'ignore list', but that only seems to reference files on the system to be ignored in a scan.

Any ideas?

Any help will be very much appreciated as I share files on a daily basis with a work colleague who live almost 2 hours drive away.

P.S. DeInstalling and ReInstalling DropBox has no effect :-(

Welcome to the forum.

If you have the Pro version of ASC, you could use the restore feature in Internet Booster to return your settings to pre scan time.

If you do not have Pro, then you could try a system restore to a time when Dropbox was working. You will find the Restore function in ASC Rescue Centre.

Hi LenseOnLife,

Internet Booster does not support Chrome v39 according to security rules built Since Chrome v39.

Please get more information at http://forums.iobit.com/forum/advanced-systemcare/advanced-systemcare-v8/197802-homepage-protection-and-surfing-protection-are-not-supported-in-chrome-version-39

Normally, ASC will not cause the drop box issue you mention. However, to further check it, please send us the related screenshots for us to look into.

Guide for taking screenshot.

Besides, please download the tool from http://testdemo.iobit.com/InfoHelperV8.exe

Then double click to run this tool and click “Save report to Desktop”. You will get a zipped file IObit_Debug_Info.zip on your desktop, please send it to us so that we can get the detailed information to look into.

Looking forward to hearing from you.
