Happened with ASC 8.4 and now with 9. Disables start menu and Cortana in windows10.

I'm pretty sure this is specific to my Dell laptop because there is no issue with my desktop also running windows 10. This happened several times already and I've had to restore to an earlier date to get up and running again. Anyone with similar issues?

As we know, many users also encountered with this issue even without ASC installed. Normally, ASC will not cause such issue.

 

To further checking, please download the tool from http://testdemo.iobit.com/InfoHelperV9.exe

 

Then double click to run this tool and click “Save report to Desktop”. You will get a zipped file IObit_Debug_Info.zip on your desktop, please send it to us so that we can get the detailed information to look into.

Please kindly restore your system back to a date before the issue.

 

Then open ASC, only select Registry Clean and Junk Files Clean, scan and repair to see whether the issue will occur again.

I restored to a earlier date and ran the scan as you asked. No problem after the scan. This suggests that the problem may be in the system optimization section of the program.

Ran ASC with just sytem optimization checked and took a screenshot of the results.

Just when I thought the problem was being narrowed to a specific module, it happened again after a reboot. I was able to generate the debug file in safe mode and will attach.

Did you scan and repair registry and junk files before reboot? Or you only scanned and repaired with the system optimization module?

This happened after the registry and junk files repair. When I ran the system optimization module, I only posted the results of the scan. I did not hit the repair button.
