When you select "Download Protection" Internet Explorer freezes. Windows 10 x64.

Hi SKIBA,

Sorry to hear that.

Do you mean when you turn on Download Protection but your IE freezes? What is the version of your IE? Please give us more details with related screenshots.

Guide for taking screen shots can be found on: http://graphicssoft.about.com/cs/general/ht/winscreenshot.htm

Please also download the tool from http://testdemo.iobit.com/InfoHelper.exe when the issue happens

Double click to run this tool on the PC with problem and click 'Save report'.

After it finishes, you will get a pop up window to tell you where the report file IObit_Debug_Info.zip is saved. Click 'OK' button to open that saved folder.

Send the zipped file to us so that we can get the detailed information to look into

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thank you for your patience.

@SKIBA ?What brand laptop or PC do you have? What processor and how much memory (RAM)? How many processes do you have running when you have the freezing issues? If you're running Windows 10 64-bit, why would you run IE instead of the Edge browser? Edge is cleaner with far less junk loading in the pages unless you prefer to have the ads, etc of course.

?I suppose it also depends on what you're attempting to download. If you're attempting to download something that registers as something the application is protecting against, IE would freeze as the application would block the site or process you're attempting to perform.

@Cicely @njazrael71 When enabled, simply IE feeezes and crashes without any error. I have to turn off the process through Task Manager. When this option is off browser does't crash.

If you don't mind me asking, what other applications do you have running? What site are you attempting to download from? What make/model PC or laptop are you running? These may not seem like important pieces of information but a this is download protection, if what you are attempting to download could be deemed as potentially hazardous, it could be what is causing the system to hang or if you're operating a Toshiba Satellite laptop, those don't always meet the minimum requirements. Also, who is your ISP? What is your network speed? Are you on wireless or Ethernet?

?Have you attempted your download with the download protection with the Microsoft Edge browser in Windows 10?

?I know I'm asking a lot of questions but I'm just trying to help. I've been working in I.T. for the last 30 yrs so it's a force of habit.

I keep having this annoying pop up, ever since I connected my camcorder (it continues now, even with the camcorder removed, and the only usb is my printer, I have rebooted my system since with no effect) - every minute I get a pop-up saying a USB has been detected and I should upgrade to pro. It is extremely annoying because it is constantly popping up and blocks my window and interferes with my typing, and I can't seem to get it to stop. I don't mind an initial popup, but constant reoccurence every 60 seconds? I have the latest version. Please fix!

I like the products. General feedback is hard to give on this website.

I get regular popups to scan my PC. It does not identify by who or what? I do not click on anonymous popup messages.

IOBit is probably the first Windows App I have experienced that does not have hot-keys. I could have really used the apps, but I didn't have a mouse.

Hi JulieE,

I apologize for the delay in reply.

First and quick possible solution would be to unplug your printer from current usb port, and connect it to different usb port. Restart your PC.

If that does not help you, you should try updating your usb port driver.

Follow these simple steps:

1. Go to Device Menager: right click on "Windows start" button and from meny select Device menager; or go to Contol Panel> Device menager

2. In Device menager window locate "Universal Serial Bus controllers"

3. First, try to right click on USB controllers and select "Scan for hardware changes"

4. After that spread USB controllers chapter, and than right click "update driver" on all USB controllers located there (USB composite device, USB root hub etc.)

I hope this will help you to solve your problem. If not contact us with more details about OS version you use, so we can try other troubleshooting methods.

Hi Julie,

May I ask, since when did this issue started?

Do you remember any actions that you have taken prior to this?

For Windows users:

If yes, you can restore your computer to an earlier time when there was no issues happening yet.

Follow this link: https://support.microsoft.com/en-ie/help/17085/windows-8-restore-refresh-reset-pc

You can also update your USB drivers.

Follow this link: http://www.driverupdate.net/new_lp/usb_device_issues.php

You can also turn off the notification for USB errors.

Go to settings, click on devices then click on USB and lastly, slide off the selection bar to turn off notification. Cheers! vbsmile.png
