MonitorDisk.exe infected with FileRepMalware [PUP]

Recommended Posts

Hi steveflynn

This issue has become more and more common in the last 12 months or so, whereby the various Anti-virus/Anti-malware companies have become more agressive with regards

to PUP's (Possibly Unwanted Programs). It has become such an issue that there is actually litigation going on in the U.S. between variousnAnti-virus/Anti-malware companies and

PC utility companies, because they are blocking each others programmes due to PUP's. These PUP's are usually related to advertising other products in the companies repertoire, or

encouraging the customer to Upgrade. So the big legal fight is whether they can be considered a malware/virus or not.

Sadly, as in all these situations, the end user is the one who carries the burden.

So that said, you can be assured that the Iobit files (while they may be annoying for creating pop-ups for upgrades etc) are absolutely harmless.

Simply whitelist them in your AV/Malware program or put them in the ignore list.
