Guys, the 360 Iobit are considering Registry Genius (a program I have some time to optimize the registry) as Malware. What can be done? Put it in the exceptions? Ask the staff responsible for Iobit 360 to make a patch?

Most probably a rogueware, but perhaps someone from IObit should answer that.

Registry Genius is a fake registry fix tool, which reports false or exaggerated system security threats on the computer.The user is then prompted to pay for a full license of the application in order to remove the threats.

 

So we recommend you to remove it ASAP.

 

Also please refer to Tim Xue's POST here to get more information of the rogueware.

 

Avoid them and be careful when download and install a new program.

Very strange, because the Norton Security 2009, did not find anything on the site registrygenius.com and SpywareDoctor, also did not report anything, and neither of microsoft antispyware or e ThreatFire from PCTools, or Kaspersky.

A squared totally blocks this site!!

 

A squared (EMSI) totally blocks also.:shock:

 

A Google search produces a proliferation of propaganda/flooding the world with many bogus reviews (one site listed only 360 users). Bunch of conflicting/confusing information!!

 

Wanted to take a snap, but now have to go back and reset A2 to get it.

 

 

MSE alerts to some of the "review sites" and blocks as well.
