Help me please!!

I installed IObit's protected folder program and installed it to the same folder I wanted to protect. In hindsight, yeah, not such a great idea...

I can't run the program because it's in a locked folder, therefore causing me to require permission that I can't acquire. I can't simply uninstall it either, for the same reason.

What do I do? Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

So did the software <Iobit's protected folder> run and allow you to set a password?

Ok! then you will have to send a personal message (PM) to Cicely and desribe the problem to her. The Private Message link can be found at the top right of the main forum GUI. Private Messages in blue.

Send the message to Cicely. Here is her profile- > http://forums.iobit.com/member.php?find=lastposter&t=11981

In the future please remember your password!!! Or don't use the software at all!

Please see this thread-> http://forums.iobit.com/search.php?searchid=1128421 and the further threads concerning this!

Sincerely,

-Mel

Yes it did. But now when I try to run the program I receive the error, "Windows cannot find access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item."

I am an admin on the computer.

Are you having problems executing Admin functions within your Windows now?

PLEASE uncheck the High risk items before you repair! I only asked the question as so many users experiences loss of control after using ASC5!!! I was not advocating the use of the registry repair function!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

!This Will Not solve your problem!

-Mel

The only solution to this I believe is through Iobit!!!

Welcome

Welcome to the forum Tiamarth

Sending a PM to Cicely is the best path to a solution.

But... don't I need her profile to private message her? The link you provided didn't work...

For future reference: If you click on any members name (top left of their post) you can select Send a Private Message to (member name)

Anyway, here is the correct link to the Profile of Cicely, under Contact Info you will see Send a private message to Cicely

http://forums.iobit.com/member.php?u=8413

All the best, woz of oz

Hi Tiamarth,

Here is the more detailed direction, please follow the steps to solve the issue.

1) please download the Protected Folder from the link below

http://www.freenew.net/windows/protected-folder-10/14049.htm

2) Please install it and enter the password.(Please see the attached picture enter the password.jpg)

3) When it comes to the final window, please tick the item "Lauch Protected Folder" and click on the button "Finish".(Please see the attached picture Protected folder.jpg)

4) Please unlock the folder after you enter this program.

If it still doesn't work, please provide us the details about the troubles.;-)
