All software to be installed should be opt-in instead of opt-out. The difference between opt-in is that the user has to make a decision to install the program. In opt-out the user has to do something to stop the program from installing. The better way is to make the company earn the right to be installed by the user. So Opt-in is the way to make that happen.

I am also infected with the itop malware. There is no listing in apps to remove and your uninstall program also cannot find it to killl it off. Action center updated itself and brought this plague along with it. At least give us a way to kill it off. Please!

Go to C\Program Files (or Program Files x86........and delete the relevant folders

also go to C\Users\name\appdata\roaming....and do the same....

Its not possible to delete, because the programm is running. And its not possible to deinstall (see Screenshot) because of missing file (Not really missing).

I installed "Drive Easy" and got no Chance to disagree the Installation of these malware kind of products. Its not cool! I hope you get a solution for this. Otherwise i have to re-boot my PC as well. Im very disappointed in your "Service".

What is wrong with you people.

No one wants to keep uninstalling programs because your company cannot get its act together. Stop keep telling us that you are sorry.

you keep giving the same reply to all,

As I mentioned before you can untick the checkbox for iToP  VPN if you do not want it during your installtion of IObit programs. But you may need ot check it with more attention.

I will report your feedbacks to our product team.

We will try a make a better balance in the future.

If you can insert this rubbish into your programs without consent from the customer, then you can just as easily add a fix to delete it from customers computers.

Stop hiding behind, IF, MAYBE, COULD HAVE, CUSTOMERS SHOULD. Take ownership of the problem you have created and sort it out. It is not a customer issue or fault, IT IS YOURS.

Like the other customers, if it is not sorted I will cancel all my IObit programms and go elsewhere.

Paid subscribers shouldn't have to untick anything to opt out of installing any additional software from IOBit or it's partners.  There should be an empty check box to opt in only so that clicking next will proceed without installing additional software unless the user specifically ticked the box.  If you want to bring someone's attention to a new offering then forcing the user to have to tick the opt-in or to tick "No Thanks" before they can click next is the correct way to go and you do that on some of your offers, why not on all.

I won't even try iTOP VPN because I think the scare tactic popup saying "You are exposed" is bullying, especially to people who don't know what a VPN is.  Clients started ringing me asking me what to do, thinking someone has already hacked into their system to prove that they were exposed and that they would be ransomed or something if they clicked on the popup.  I sell a lot of PCs and I used to install IOBit's Advanced systemCare Ultimate Trial on the PCs for years and recommend the clients renew after the trial.  I won't put Advanced systemCare or any IOBit products on anymore PCs I sell unless things like iTOP VPN, DriverBooster and IOBit Uninstaller are changed to be less intrusive on paid subscriptions and on Trials. A few years ago, the adware and sometimes automatic install of Other IOBit and Partner software just by clicking Fix Now started making me have to explain to clients why and how they got DriverBooster, IOBit uninstaller, etc on their PC and why they get so many popup ads.  I used to be able to calm them down saying the benefits of ASCU outweighed the popop ads but now you have gone too far.

I used to argue in IOBits favor on MalwareBytes forum because I was disappointed that their software won't let you permanently whitelist ASCU.  The way it is now, they have a right to treat ASCU and other IOBit software as PUP malware.  You seem to run several little programs to make sure that the ads aren't blocked (Liveupdate.exe, FreeBigupgrade.exe, SafeTipe.exe, Bigupgrade_UI.exe, Bigupgrade_SUI.exe).  This is very aggressive and no matter how much I like ASCU and even iTOP screen recorder, I have been put off.

I have the paid version of IObit Uninstaller and truly like it. However, if action is not taken very soon regarding the installation of unwanted application(s) with the option of Opt-In being the default I will not continue my use and will advise against its use. As others have already stated, it is not that hard to make the change!

Actually, it is an recommendation. Users can refuse it if you are not interested in it. Sorry if you did not cancel it and install it actidently.

I will report your feedback to our prouct team. We will keep on improving to let users who really need this program can have a changce to know it. At the same time, do not disturb those who are not interested in.

Thanks for your understanding.

You have made the same or similar statements a dozen or so times over the last 6 months.  Is the development/product team not interested in the feedback and why haven't they given you something different to tell us.  I have renewed dozens of clients ASCU subscriptions recently but I would like to know if I can get the money back as ASCU, IOBit Uninstaller and DriverBooster behave worse than any freeware I have ever seen as far as ads and unwanted installation of PUPs.  Even the ASCU Monitor is starting to advertise iTop products and popup scare messages about exposure.

What is going to be IOBits position if a disgruntled iTop employee puts an undetectable trojan in one of their products that you sneakily install on our PCs by hiding the optout option or by including in the Fix Now button.  Without the end user tacitly asking to install third party software, IOBit should be liable for whatever damage is caused.

What is iTop has unscrupulous employees who want to gather personal data with one or more of their installed products.  They can do this with an update that you have no control over once the product has been installed.  You could be inadvertently giving iTop access to millions of PCs that one of their updates could convert to a giant Bot net.  It doesn't have to be iTop, they could be hacked and the hackers put out an update drafting all iTop installations into a Bot net.

Can you please ask your Sales department how we can apply for refunds for IOBit products that have these invasive, unstoppable ads after being licensed and let us know?

Hi jmtcesnz.co.nz,

Sorry to tell you that it takes a long time to take changes.

But you know it needs different deparments to discuss and make decisions.

I keep on recording your feedabcks, and IObit value users voice. Give us some time, we will make improvements.

iTOP VPN is from our partner and  it is 100% safe. Please do not worry. You can remove it or keep it as per your needs.

Thanks for your understanding.

I have a great concern. ITop vpn was on and working when a Trojan horse undetected by iObit Malware Fighter got into the vpn files, turned off the vpn, and sucked all the files out of my storage drive. I tried to open the vpn to hit the kill switch, but it would not let me open the dashboard. I had to do a hard shutdown, but it was too late. The vpn and the malware fighter clearly were not working as I run them on startup and shutdown daily. I ran another antivirus program on the vpn, and there it was - Trojan horse! Not a happy camper. Have cleaned my system, removed the vpn software and will be looking for a more reliable vpn and malware program. It happened so fast! Luckily, I have back-up, but it should not have happened if everything worked.

Recommendation??? This is scareware! Its unethical! A line of text appears on my desktop that only reads "You're Exposed!" linking to the iobit VPN software. This is purposefully misleading. There is no way to kill this message until you've purchased or uninstalled. Using windows add/remove programs doesn't fully remove it. Had to use revo uninstaller to get rid of it. And even then, it corrupted my start up file and forced my system to roll back to when all iobit software was back on my system. I'm cancelling my subscription and will be looking for a full refund. This is not good business practice. I understand a pop up or links to your other products through conventional means like when the software is in use but to use scare tactics to get people to buy is just wrong. Will never recommend iobit and will never use it again.

I have several clients whose IOBit subscriptions have expired and I won't renew them until there is something done about iTOP specifically and popup ads on the paid versions generally.  You say it takes time but why should it take nearly a year for your departments to decide whether to keep partnering with iTOP who is using scare tactics and giving your product a really bad name and also giving me a bad name because I have put your products on hundreds of PCs over the years.

not once but several times with different products on different computers all with box checked "no" Its your software that is installing anyway and i am very hesitant to download your "tool" because frankly i am not trusting IOBIT much right now, i didnt ask for these and in fact declined but you install anyway thats a virus. Absolutely horrible marketing where you once had a good reputation. Rather than ask customers to do the work and send you a "report" how about you test it for yourself
