Aye. Looked at it.

Dear Usefulll,

Thanks for this link, Are you running this software? I didn't see direct reference to it by you but only looked briefly. The big boys give it high ratings. Please describe why you post this/advantage to you/drawback etc.

Thanks!!!

well i just installed this my zone alarm.thy are on there way back

for a free version .its very good.i would say the same as i know it..

it very sharp ,crisp.and not slowing the system!

it has restrictions yes as in you cannot set it to block as you want..

(as in it full capabilities)

but one would have ta pay ,for it to be able to do all one wants..

i always had a weakness for this fire wall ,so this is looking good,

i may after a bit ,get the full one,if it behaves..

just to demonstrate how 3 fire walls can run perfectly ,protecting your system

with out using a above amount of system resonators

i few shots live.using the application.for the ones thinking of installing Zone alarm...

you notice only access is allowed always..please note the settings

all red is blocked

windows fire wall is running..there is no need ta block it or shut it down.

you can ,but for myself i do not really care.if it is running..

also notice that IObit apps working as well .plus all my apps all running fine

ZONE Alarm have now stopped hogging the system ,it looks like at last no conflicting .nor interfering with and other part of the system

bar doing what it is supposed to do.and that is being a fire wall!

by the way just think all this ,and the router fire wall .working .to look after the system! pkus the sand box..

i want to especially thank USEFULL for the heads up..

now i know there are other fire wall like comode, and pctools.outpost

and so on.probably better?

but i only want a fire wall .not any over cook ones..and i mean

that kindly..this for me with what i have is plenty..

you do not need to run more than 1 fire wall .but its the way i run my system..and always have,

for the new user ,yes this is plenty.even with its defaulted setting.

one thing .BLOCK ZONE ALARM FROM LINKING to itself..the site..

so noting is passed to them

i do not trust them in this, nor any apps that is linking to itself..unless you allow it.

my rule trust noting..

I have never used this firewall, but strictly as an observation I noticed that Zone Alarm Free did not test well on the highly respected Matousec Proactive Security Challenge only being able to reach 2 of 10 levels and only received only an 11% score from them and thus did not receive their recommendation.

its there new build ! 9.1.007.002 not 8.00 build..so its very munched improved..???

well its up to the ones that like it .i did as as you pointed out there are perhaps better ones..

and ,its there new one ,and i like it--i have posted this is my fire wall .but the last 6 years been a dog,thy zone, have failed and went backwards.why

i think try to hard..and over cooked the soup..now this is where it should be,

with win 7 its a very well programed application.it now at last non bloating, hogging ,app...

but look i love it and am happy, with what i want from it .

as you see from the caps its a pure fire wall installed only .with out the added

ins...

so with my eset, looknstop, win, router, that's all i want

and it block's fruitfully ..so i think not a bad fire wall to consider..

as for the link well we have already discussed this before..

and i need not elaborate on it..as to my feelings to this type on site

my point and the starter ,usefull , try it

why not..costs nothing bar a download..if one likes it well good and wonderful its staying on my system ....

plus now using sandbox ,i do not need anything fancy,my protection is 100%

as sandbox is now staying...let something try ta get in! i am even thinking to rid some apps now .with sandbox thy are useless, and do not need them..

thy stay there any thing inbound.i run them from there as you showed me

the drives are nicely locked away...i have now the confidence to have my usb drives plunged in..while on the net.

that is how sure i am..

Does the job

I ran ZoneAlarm free and Avast free for 6 months and nothing bad happened but then I practice safe surfing.

This is the combination I recommend to my friends who could probably be classified as 'average users'

I know that if either the AV or Firewall required more than just a bit of configuring or they experienced too many warning pop-ups etc, this would only annoy them and they would just turn it Off

All the best, woz of oz

Sandboxie also freed me of using antiquated black list default allow Antivirus technology because now that I am running my Browser in a Virtual environment the only use an Antivirus has any more is to name the Malware and offer to escort it into my computer to be quarantined instead of executing a 7 pass overwrite deletion on the Malware when the Browser and Virtual Sandbox closes. The times are changing rapidly in computer security and in 2010 we will probably see most of the major security software companies incorporate Virtual Sandboxing Technology along with Comodo and Avast who have already made the commitment.

Avast is also my choice of recommendations when it comes to an Antivirus for family and friends. Avast 5 Pro with Sandboxing sounds interesting...

jjj- I can understand very well why you don't have javascript enables and I've been trying for hours to find a way to post Leak Test program file online for you to retrieve, with no good result. I'm just glad that you are happy with your current firewall although I was a little saddened that you were not able to download the Comodo Pro Firewall all by itself to try out as there is an option available to do so and pass on all of the rest of the Suite.

yes i did a goole on this test ,and thy insists on java being run,i do not use it .never have, there for its uninstalled ,i do confess its sometimes i nuisance ass ,

sites all ways show me i do not have it,or turn of.asking to enable it..hence no downloads..

but i do not trust it(java) revels to much..when used..any how thank you for the offerings,..on your part as well..but then it cannot be used by the outside.

i believe if one is a programmer its useful to have, and i think it enhances the links, than run it..but like i said i never have ,and know nothing about it .or want to..

jjj- Good news! Just for you I did some more digging around and I found this link to the Leak Tests Zipfile Download in the 4th post on this Seven Forums page.

As you can tell from the other posts on that thread the Leak Tests pay no favors to any brand of computer software security. As I'm sure you are aware if the Leak Tests are reused on a computer any permissions that were granted must be reset. I've seen many people use these Leak Tests to tune up their computer security to the point where they are eventually able to get a perfect score. I hope that you have fun with these Leak Tests.

Tests pay no favors to any brand of computer software security

i took a special note of this. and it failed...

ok i run it 5 times here is the result ..!!!! rebooted 3 times and run it again.

it failed ,why

proxomitron !! its blocking the attempted tests..stopping them at it dangerous point, not allowing any net out going..or incoming.UNKNOWN.

the rest is nothing to me.i have tried so many one more did nothing.

prove nothing.showed me zip all.perhaps a gimmick? who knows.

but as you chased the test app i was happy to try it..ok you now have my report.and my cap to prove it..and i was happy to show my way of security

and sets.yes proxomitron is in it self very powerful if set right.it stops any scam, adds, attempted changes, or links.i hijacks, cookies.java, scripts, referring,

or tracking..plus more

that why .and am i a happy chappy?

conclusion

1 its a dud.(tester) that i think its a genuine app...?

2 my system will not allow interference!

3 all tests made past ! as nothing got out or in ..from the net.

you see that is why i use proxomitron .

its very power alone beats any fire wall.......!

with the combination of LOOKnSTOP. and now zone alarm...

http://forums.iobit.com/editpost.php?do=editpost&p=33718

its very ,Very strong...let me add "Scott lemon" where ever he is watching from.is clapping .i hear him say ,yes itsmejjj your are truly the master of my program!! and its doing all i had hoped for even after 9 years....i made it..

oh yes its looking after me !!!!

we ran the app without any real protection.Winn (7) fire wall..tweaked as best we could..in the sort time we had .probly could get it much better as in a result..

modem off results not bad at all..so it will run if allowed to and nothing stops

it from testing...

ok its safe ta use...and thanks Max for the download link...
