  1. I think the important thing is that pop-up you get the first time you install new software after you install Uninstaller (the one that asks you to enable Logging). You may not have noticed that Pop-up and therefore not selected Enable.....that is why I suggested Reinstalling Uninstaller and see if you get that Pop-up the first time you install new software.

  2. In Settings/Notifications... make sure that.."Notify me when Installation Log is Created" is ticked.

The first time I Installed a new software I got a Pop-Up asking me to Enable Logging which I did. After that I have run 3 tests on Installing different softwares and each time it showed as logged and gave me a complete Log of the Installlation.

I suggest that you Go to this link and download the latest version 9.4 from the Majorgeeks site and reinstall Uninstaller. You do not have to remove the previous version, you can install over it. This will keep your history and logs......https://www.majorgeeks.com/files/det...installer.html

  3. We were most definitely not talking about the same thing. You made it sound like it was a Windows generated error....

What you are describing now is even more confusing. You really need to tell me what exactly the error is saying and post a screenshot.

It sounds like you are saying that Driver Booster itself is giving the error message. Which I have never heard of before.

    Please clarify.

Also, I thought from your description that you were unable to install DB. Now it sounds that it does install ok but does not run properly.

Make sure that you uninstall DB completely from your system. Then download from the link I gave you and reinstall. Do not activate your licence. Run Db and see if it works.

  4. While I am happy to assist you, I am a little concerned as to your inability to find the DB download. The link I gave you would take you to the News & Offers section and simply scrolling down the page would bring you to the latest DB download. Computer literacy does not play any part in such a simple procedure. So here is the direct link to the DB download.

  5. Go to the News & Offers section of the Forum and download DB from Majorgeeks link.

If you still have the issue, then you need to include DB in windows defender Ignore list/whitelist.

Also keep in mind that a recent Definitions update in windows security was faulty and has caused many problems for users.

  6. I will try to help you, but your explanation is very confusing, regarding having to restore your windows from a restore point.

Are you saying that every time you try to install a program that requires a restart, that you have to use a restore point.

To fix your issue, you should use the Driver Rollback feature of Driver Booster to rollback the drivers to the previous driver(the driver before you updated the drivers).

You should do this one driver at a time until you find the driver which is causing the problem. Once you have found the problem driver, you can update all the other drivers if you wish, except

    the problem driver.

I also recommend that in future you update drivers one at a time so if you have an issue you will immediately know the cause.

  7. It does not matter if the system needed to be restarted. The Driver Roll back still works, as the system keeps a copy of the previous driver.

As for being disappointed with the program.....I suggest that before you use new software, you should read the Product Manual in order to familiarise yourself with the operation/settings.

Also, I recommend googling the product to see if others have had issues, and also look through the Forum (if the product has one).

Here are the Iobit Product Manuals....https://www.iobit.com/en/product-manuals.php

  8. One of the updated drivers probably caused the issue.

It is unwise to update more than one driver at a time, because if you have an issue, which you did, you will not know which driver is responsible.

Also, it should be unnecessary to have to restore from a backup, as driver booster has a rollback feature which allows you to rollback driver updates to the previous version.

You could have used this to rollback the drivers one at a time to fix the issue and also identify the bad driver.

It is also wise to create system restore points so that if you have an issue such as you had, you can restore your system to a time before the issue occurred.

  9. Ok.....I should not have used the word "Official". If you downloaded from the "Official" site then you most likely downloaded from Softonic. There has been many issues similar to

your own regarding Softonic. If you completely Uninstall DB, then go to the News and Offers section of the Forum, you can download the latest DB from the Majorgeeks site.

This is completely clean and has not third party addons.

Also no point coming back to me and telling me how crazy it is that Iobit still use Softonic in their official link. This issue has been addressed with Iobit many times and they have ignored it.

  10. If that program did not find them I really think you will be unable to find them any other way.

Every time you use your PC after a file is deleted, you run the risk of the deleted file being overwritten...once that happens nothing can recover it.

You might try running the Cloned File Scanner.....it is unlikely ... but I have found that Windows sometimes has duplicates of files.

I cannot understand why you do not have a backup for such obviously important files.

Also, why do you keep such important files in the Root.
